Posted By   Arvind Kumar

JEE Main is one of the most competitive engineering entrance exams in India. To secure a good rank,

a well-planned strategy, consistency, and effective time management are essential. With JEE Main 2025

approaching, aspirants should focus on smart preparation techniques rather than just hard work.

This article outlines a detailed strategy to help you maximize your performance in JEE Main 2025.

1. Understand the Syllabus

Before starting your preparation, thoroughly analyze the JEE Main 2025 syllabus and exam pattern:

   • Subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics

   • Mode of Exam: Computer-Based Test (CBT)

   • Question Type: Multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and Numerical Value Questions

   • Marking Scheme: +4 for correct answers, -1 for incorrect MCQs, and no negative marking

     for numerical questions

   • Total Marks: 300

Focus on NCERT textbooks as they are the foundation for JEE Main, especially for Chemistry.

2. Create a Realistic Study Plan

A well-structured timetable ensures balanced coverage of all subjects. Here’s how you can plan:

   • Daily Study Hours: 6–8 hours of dedicated study

   • Weekly Goals: Revise concepts, solve problems, and take mock tests

   • Subject-Wise Distribution: Allocate time based on your strengths and weaknesses

   • Breaks: Short breaks after every 1-2 hours to avoid burnout

3. Subject-Wise Preparation Strategy

  Physics

   • Strengthen conceptual understanding through HC Verma and NCERT

   • Solve numerical problems from DC Pandey and IE Irodov (for advanced level)

   • Focus on important topics like Mechanics, Electrostatics, Magnetism, Optics, and Modern Physics

 Chemistry

   • Physical Chemistry: Practice numerical problems from P. Bahadur

   • Organic Chemistry: Study reaction mechanisms from MS Chouhan and NCERT

   • Inorganic Chemistry: Stick to NCERT as most questions come directly from it

 Mathematics

   • Master problem-solving skills with RD Sharma, Cengage, and Arihant books

   • Focus on topics like Calculus, Algebra, Coordinate Geometry, and Trigonometry

Solve previous years’ papers to understand the question trends

4. Solve Previous Years’ Papers and Mock Tests

Practice JEE Main previous years' papers (last 10–15 years) to understand question patterns

Take regular mock tests to simulate exam conditions and improve speed & accuracy Analyze

mistakes and work on weak areas after each test.

5. Time Management and Smart Revision

  • Daily Revision: Revise formulas, theorems, and important concepts

  • Short Notes: Maintain handwritten notes for quick revision before exams

  • Formula Sheets: Create a formula sheet for Mathematics and Physics

  • Mind Maps: Use mind maps for Organic and Inorganic Chemistry

6. Stay Healthy and Motivated

Maintain a proper sleep schedule (6-8 hours per night)
